Forward Madison FC Home Opener

It was a snowy evening as Forward Madison FC kicked off their first season at Madison’s Breese Stevens Field. Perfect Wisconsin weather to begin history. It’s come along way from when I was working at Dairyland Insurance and while exiting the building with the VP on my way to capture a Wisconsin Women’s soccer game, I suggested something that I had been thinking about that we should sponsor the new soccer team coming to Madison and have the Dairyland logo on their jersey. The VP thought it was a great idea and and I can still hear him repeating “Dave that is a really great idea”. I had no idea what I started in motion that afternoon, I just knew that for American Family Insurance my previous employer, they had some good exposure having their logo on Atlanta United’s jersey so I thought it would be good for Dairyland to do something similar. We definitely had the resources and could use some brand recognition. So it was great to see my idea out there on the pitch in a game.

2018 Wisconsin Women’s Soccer Team’s Amazing Ride

The season ended after the UW fell 1-0 in the NCAA tournament’s third round

The Wisconsin Badgers women’s soccer team plowed through the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament defeating Memphis and Hofstra. Although the Badgers fell to the No. 1 seed and defending champs, Stanford 1-0, holding Stanford (20-0-2, 10-0-1 Pac 12) to one goal was a testament of the Badger’s skill considering Stanford put 13 goals on the board in its last four games.
